The Manila Doctors College participated in the Department of Education’s National Maintenance Week held last May 18 – 22, 2009 as Maricaban Elementary School (MES) as beneficiary. This was undertaken in line with the community extension projects of the Manila Doctors College and the partnership established with Barangay 179, Maricaban Pasay City.
The opening program, held last May 18, 2009, 8:00 a.m. was organized by the Brigada Eskwela Coordinator Mrs. Marilyn Dela and teachers of Masricaban Elementary School. The Opening Program was attended by the Pasay City Councilor Noel Bayona, DepEd Pasay Assistant Division Superintended Dr. Estrelita Putian, MDC President Mrs. Theresita O. Turla and members of the Management Committee and volunteers from both MDC (tri-sectoral community), representatives from La Corona Hotel were likewise donors of MES for this year’s Brigada Eskwela.
To maximize the resources of the College for this project, partnerships and linkages were forged with various institutions and organizations including Boysen Paints and Chowking. A total of P 119,452.00 in donations (in kind and manpower services) were extended to MES for the said project.
RECYCLABLES MARKET and WELLNESS CAMP
In its commitment to contribute to the global effort to save the environment from degradation, MDC once again partnered with Metrobank Foundation and Manila Doctors Hospital in The Recyclables Market and Wellness Camp 2009. The RMWC 2009 sought to promote healthy attitudes and lifestyle as well as raise awareness and concern to the environment.
The Recyclables and Wellness Camp 2009 is a three-part one-day event, showcasing various exhibitors of organic and health products, recyclables turnover and a lecture series of health and wellness. Held last June 20, 2009, the Recyclables Market and Wellness Camp 2009 staged at the Manila Doctors College campus along Pres. Diosdado Macapagal Blvd., Metropolitan Park, Pasay City.
RECYCLABLES
Organizations and individuals were encouraged to bring recyclable materials which can be redeemed for cash from pre-identified buying stations. (The recyclable materials can be old/junk electronics and electrical equipment; used lead acid batteries; used papers and cartons; used ink / toner cartridges; other plastics & aluminum cans, tin cans, metals, PET bottles; scrap glass, etc.)
LECTURES ON HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Raising awareness thru a series of lectures that will focus on different health and environmental topics such as green architecture, stress management exercises, medical and eco - tourism, dieting, vegetarian food preparation, herbal medicine and aromatherapy, etc.

Companies and exhibitors showcased their health and environment-friendly products.
BANTAY BATA 163 MEDICAL MISSSION
Last date, #student volunteers from the Manila Doctors College participated in the community outreach-medical mission headed by ABS-CBN Foundation (AFI), Bantay Bata 163 held in Bilibiran Elemetary School, Sitio Sto. Niño, Barangay Bilibiran, Binangonan, Rizal. The mission provided free medical check – up to 300 families (300 children, 600 parents). Through its partnership with the Manila Doctors Hospital, the College was likewise able to invite 8 doctors most of which are from the MDC Pediatrics Department.
Bantay Bata 163 is a medical – based non – government organization under the umbrella of the ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. that primarily caters to the provision of children’s protection, survival, development, and participation rights through its various programs and services
